Trade guild convoys are and continue to be, prime targets for pirate scum looking to make a quick cred. The trade guilds usually employ guards, but that has often proven to be expensive and ineffective. Seeing an opportunity to not only protect its own interests, but to also increase their own profits, the Kylaxian Trade Guild began designing and manufacturing their own ship designs to combat pirate and raider threats throughout the galaxy. Designed as a heavy support and escort corvette, the class 3 gunship was purpose built to support a lightly armed trade convoy against a wide range of threats while providing the capability and resources to repair and maintain convoys through the long journeys between isolated star systems. Boasting an advanced targeting control array, along with a pair of ROF-X2 gauss cannons, the class 3 gunship can acquire and coordinate firing solutions using fleet wide targeting data with devastating effect.
