The MK-36 series of frigates was first launched and used as personal and commercial use transports, envoys and research ships, but when the Vega Conflict erupted many of the MK-36 shipyards were converted to produce the MK-36 Type 2 which was re-designed as a combat capable frigate class carrier and warship. Often used in interdiction or intercept missions, the Medjay has become well known throughout the sector. As one of the few frigate class ships capable of housing nearly a full squadron of JXN.101 strike craft, the Medjay continues to prove to be a fearsome opponent on the battlefield.
