'The Eaters of Suns' was a task force designation assigned to a contingent of Apep class strategic carriers and their supporting assets commissioned by the Imperium's royal council at the outset of the Vega Conflict. Their objective was to invade several Terran core worlds and establish rally points for further invasion forces. While they never fully achieved their objective, the Eaters of Suns also never suffered a single casualty as a result of this ambitious strategy. As modified versions of the Apep strategic battlecruisers, the Eaters of Suns are still touted as some of the most robust dreadnought class ships in existence to this day. In later stages of the Vega Conflict, there were several reports of these, truly awesome, behemoths ramming through Terran cruisers and dreadnoughts during pitched conflicts. The ship's primary armament is a pair of super heavy plasma cannons that lack the range of similar classed weapons, but have been known to blow holes clean through larger capital ships under the right circumstances. The ships also boast an integrated automated damage network, capable of repairing the hull and armor even in the middle of a heated engagement.
