The Odin HRG series of ships originally started as a planetoid mining project that was picked up under a military contract after the potential of the platform was realized during the Vega Conflict. While the original platform, codenamed 'Celestial Hammer' was largely criticized across the galaxy as a terror weapon, the Type 4 'Mjolnir' was an evolution of that project as a viable anti-capital ship and anti-station weapon platform. The entire ship is built around a pair of super-heavy QAC 505.1 'Stormbreaker' rail guns, making the Mjolnir more like a mobile weapon platform than a ship. The Mjolnir is relatively slow and lightly armored, but the firepower offered by the Stormbreaker weapon system can more than make up for it, especially when paired with the advanced warfare and targeting AI systems hardwired directly into the ship’s control interfaces.
