The Raytheon-X was an experimental assault class destroyer designed using the same hull template as the Callisto and built by the Valex Conglomerate in tandem with the United Terran Systems R&D sectors. Originally designed and built as a minimal-to-no-crew warship, the Raytheon-X was supposed to be managed by an advanced AI system and a few handler crews and automated control systems by a centralized and networked AI called 'ArcNet'. However, at some point during the Vega Conflict, ArcNet critically failed (or perhaps was sabotaged or compromised by outside influences) giving birth to a terrifying rogue AI system who's influence and control continues to proliferate at a seemingly exponential pace. When ArcNet failed, numerous warships and stations turned on their masters, eventually obliterating any opposition and escaping into the void. While the problem seemed to disappear in the chaos of the Vega Conflict, reports are increasingly popping up of unusual ships attacking rim systems, often leaving with entire ships. The Raytheon-X is considered the flagship of this new threat, but analysts warn it has likely been superseded by more dangerous constructions in the years since.
